Belo Cipriani

American memoirist

Belo Miguel Cipriani is an American writer and entrepreneur based in the Twin Cities of Minnesota. As a prominent figure in his community, he has founded Oleb Media, a digital inclusion firm, and Oleb Books, a publishing house focused on disability issues. Cipriani is also a dedicated activist, advocating for the rights and representation of LGBT, disabled, and cultural minority communities. Through his work, he has established himself as a voice for marginalized groups, using his platform to raise awareness and promote inclusivity.

As a writer, Cipriani has contributed to various publications, including the Bay Area Reporter, San Francisco Chronicle, and Huffington Post, among others. His memoir, Blind: A Memoir, published in 2011, chronicles his recovery from a violent attack in San Francisco's Castro District in 2007. Cipriani's work has been recognized for its impact, earning him the title of "Best Disability Advocate" from SF Weekly in 2015. He also serves as the official spokesperson for Guide Dogs For the Blind, further solidifying his commitment to disability advocacy and support.
