Gummo Marx
attore statunitense (1892-1977)
Milton "Gummo" Marx was a multifaceted American entertainer and businessman, born in 1892 in Manhattan. As the fourth of the five Marx Brothers, he initially pursued a career in vaudeville, performing alongside his siblings on the circuit. However, his tenure in the act was cut short when he was drafted into the US Army in 1918, during the midst of World War I.
Following his military service, Gummo Marx opted not to return to the theatre, instead choosing to forge a new path as a businessman. In contrast to his brothers, who went on to achieve great success in film, Gummo never appeared in any of their movies. Despite this, he found success in his own right, becoming a thriving theatrical agent and entrepreneur. He passed away in 1977, leaving behind a legacy as a unique and talented individual within the renowned Marx Brothers family.
