Maurice El Médiouni

Maurice El Médiouni, also known as French El Médioni, was a renowned Algerian musician born in 1928. He was a skilled pianist, composer, and interpreter of various musical genres, including Andalusian, Raï, Sephardic, and Arab music. His versatile talent allowed him to collaborate with a range of notable artists, leaving a lasting impact on the music scene.

Throughout his career, El Médiouni had the opportunity to perform alongside prominent musicians such as Lili Labassi, Line Monty, Lili Boniche, Samy el Maghribi, and Reinette l'Oranaise. Interestingly, music was initially a hobby for El Médiouni, who also worked as a professional tailor. He passed away in 2024, leaving behind a legacy as one of the few living artists of his time to have shared the stage with such an impressive array of talented musicians.
