Avshalom Feinberg
agente segreto ottomano (1889–1917)
Avshalom Feinberg was a prominent figure in the Jewish community, known for his activism and involvement in the Nili spy network. Born in 1889, Feinberg played a key role in the organization, which operated in Palestine during World War I. The Nili network's primary objective was to assist the British in their fight against the Ottoman Empire, and Feinberg was one of its leaders, contributing to the group's efforts to gather and exchange crucial intelligence.
Feinberg's life was cut short in 1917 when he was killed during a mission for Nili. He was attempting to cross the Ottoman-British front line, accompanied by Yosef Lishansky, with the goal of reestablishing contact with British forces in the Sinai Peninsula. The mission aimed to facilitate the exchange of intelligence between the British and Nili, but ultimately ended in tragedy with Feinberg's death. His sacrifice has been remembered as a testament to his dedication to the cause and his bravery in the face of danger.
