Leonard Maltin

Leonard Maltin is a renowned American film critic and historian, born in 1950. He has established himself as a prominent figure in the film industry, particularly through his comprehensive book of film capsule reviews, Leonard Maltin's Movie Guide, which was published annually from 1969 to 2014. Maltin's expertise has also been showcased on television, where he served as the film critic on Entertainment Tonight for three decades, from 1982 to 2012.

In addition to his work in criticism, Maltin has been involved in film education and preservation. Since 1998, he has been a professor at the USC School of Cinematic Arts, teaching film to aspiring professionals. He has also been a key figure in the Los Angeles Film Critics Association, serving as President for two terms. Furthermore, Maltin has been involved in the selection of films for the National Film Registry and has hosted the weekly podcast Maltin on Movies since 2014, sharing his insights and knowledge with a wider audience.
