Marty Sklar was a prominent American businessman with a career spanning multiple fields, including film and construction development. His most notable contributions, however, were made in his roles at The Walt Disney Company, where he utilized his skills to drive innovation and growth.

Sklar's tenure at Disney was marked by significant milestones, including his time as vice president of Concepts and Planning, as well as his subsequent promotions to president, vice chairman, and principal creative executive of Walt Disney Imagineering. In this capacity, he served as the international ambassador for the subsidiary, overseeing the design and construction of Disney theme parks and resorts worldwide. Upon his retirement on July 17, 2009, Disney paid tribute to his dedication and service with a Disneyland window dedication ceremony, honoring his lasting impact on the company.
