Mithal al-Alusi

Mithal al-Alusi is a prominent Iraqi politician, known for his leadership of the Iraqi Ummah Party. His entry into national politics was marked by his election to the Iraqi Council of Representatives as an independent candidate in the December 2005 election. This initial success was followed by his re-election in the 2014 Iraqi parliamentary election, where he represented the Civil Democratic Alliance, a coalition of liberal and civil figures that included his own party.
