Zivia Lubetkin

Zivia Lubetkin was a prominent figure in the Polish Jewish underground during World War II. Born in 1914, she played a crucial role in the resistance movement against Nazi occupation in Warsaw. As a key leader, Lubetkin was the only woman to serve on the High Command of the Żydowska Organizacja Bojowa (ŻOB), a Jewish resistance group that fought against the oppressive regime.

Lubetkin's bravery and resilience ultimately enabled her to survive the Holocaust in German-occupied Poland. Following the war, she immigrated to Mandate Palestine in 1946, at the age of 32. Her experiences during the war had a profound impact on her life, and she continued to be involved in activism.
